Mascara Monday: Maybelline Define-A-Lash Volume

This is the first of a segment I'm going to start doing on Mondays (not every Monday) reviewing new mascaras I try out (since you all know mascara is like crack to me). Today I'm starting off with a cheap alternative to Lancome's Hypnôse. I listed its waterproof version in my mascara favorites post, and someone suggested I try Maybelline's Define-A-Lash Volume, so I did and I have to say I really liked it. It has that rubber applicator wand that has become so popular in the last few years, which in general I don't really care for, but the waterproof formula is good and it's 1/3 of the price of Hypnôse.

PROS: One of the pros of a rubber applicator is that they almost completely eliminate clumping, making your eyelashes look more natural. And since I would only wear this at the beach, a more natural lash is perfect.

CONS: Don't get this thinking you're going to get the lash drama of most voluminizing mascaras. Although it's called "Define-A-Lash Volume", I found it didn't make my lashes thicker at all. If anything, it actually made them look longer instead, so maybe I'll get some volume from Define-A-Lash Length? Weird.

How do you feel about rubber mascara applicators VS. traditional applicators?

Hmm, right at this moment, even though I despise makeup, my mum made me buy some makeup, and, I bought this Hard Candy lash extending mascara of some sorts, it's adorable and it's in a beautiful black color. Hardcandy is very erm, rockerish, I enjoy, have you checked it out?

And about the mascara brushes, hmm, I don't really like or use makeup since all I can wear really is lipgloss, and it has to taste like candy so I can eat it. Hmm, rubber is more of my favorite, I prefer rubber, my mum made me wear makeup once when I was a few years younger, and she had the traditional brushes, and it smudged a lot. Rubber does smudge a lot for me, but not as much.

Everyone seems to be making these mascaras wit the rubber wands and i can't stand them! You don't get a thick enough lash at all and I'm like you i want lash DRAMA!
